Hi guys! Another Monday… crazy that 2 weeks from today we could be meeting our baby via scheduled C section! Or, you know, maybe not, if she decides to flip out of breech position. Either way, it’s going to be an exciting Thanksgiving week for us I think! 🙂
Matt and I had a low key weekend with some relaxing, some productive time, and some yummy social outings too.
On Friday, I met up with my buddy Gretchen for lunch – how cute is her sweet little baby? Those cheeks!!
I always love catching up with Gretchen – so fun to chat about all things blogging, pregnancy, maternity leave, etc! Lots of real talk moments. 🙂 I can’t wait for our little girls to have play dates! Also, crazy that her baby arrived at 37 weeks – I’m already past that and if I were her our baby would already be here!!
We met up at our usual fave Café Kindred for lunch. I am still in my super indecisive not sure what sounds good phase of pregnancy food, so I ordered a fruity salad to start (with chicken I ended up not wanting – that avocado, juicy fruit, and the crunchy greens hit the spot, though) and then a tuna melt and chips for good measure. Good to have options! Gretchen and I also shared some fries. 🙂 I brought home the chicken and half the tuna melt for Matt to finish off for me – worked out well because he was working from home that day and hadn’t eaten when I got back!
On Friday night, Matt and I had a cozy night in and whipped up a tasty Blue Apron dinner… more on that later this week.
On Saturday morning, we took a nice long walk with Freyja that involved a stop at Starbucks mid-walk. Half-decaf latte FTW! Also, I don’t remember what it’s like to look down and be able to completely see my shoes…
I have a lot of fitness-friendly pregnancy clothing for summer/hot weather, but I’m definitely lacking in colder weather gear – at this point only 2 weeks ish out it seems silly to buy more so I’m just making do, but that white shirt was definitely borderline – I had to keep pulling it down so my belly wasn’t peeking out. Awkward! Oh well – not much longer now!
We met friends for brunch at Liberty Tavern after the walk – they have a big brunch buffet which is PERFECT for me right now so I can get random tastes of everything and see what settles well. 🙂
I am definitely starting to slow down over here at the 37 and a half weeks pregnant mark – I had plans to do errands when we got home from brunch but instead I was exhausted and took a 2 hour nap. It was lovely. 🙂
Dinner that night was another outing – Matt and I grabbed dinner with a friend at our fave Faccia Luna. I started with the arugula, beet, and goat cheese salad (so good), and then I had the chicken parm and Matt got pizza and we shared! Yummy. I’m really into fried/breaded chicken right now.
Yesterday, I took advantage of the fact that I have more energy in the morning and got a bunch of chores done around the house first thing (the extra hour thanks to daylight savings time helped, too) before meeting my friend Heather for a 10:45 prenatal yoga class in Falls Church! It was really relaxing and felt great, and we walked over to nearby Mad Fox Brewery for a post-yoga brunch. We started with salads and then I had the Huevos Rancheros (minus the pulled pork – wasn’t feeling it). I also helped Heather with her fries. 😉
Loved catching up with Heather, as always! We have so much in common – both dietitians running our own businesses focused on intuitive eating, both bloggers, both runners/yogis, and right now both pregnant! She’s due in January and it’s so fun to share this journey together. 🙂
The rest of yesterday was a mix of relaxing, eating leftovers, and getting some stuff done around the house.
And now – back to my work to do list! This is my last big week of work – I have a packed schedule with a bunch of AnneTheRD nutrition clients that are ongoing (we will skip our December meetings/check in on email, and then hopefully pick back up in January), and I have some behind the scenes blog technical stuff I need to attend to, too.
Have a good one! What was the most delicious thing you ate this weekend? Also, a huge congrats to those who ran NYC Marathon – how was it?!
