Hi friends! I’m back with one final recap from our Florida trip! (Miss the first two? Here they are: Seaside, Florida adventures and Pensacola, Florida adventures.)
As you know, Matt and I were in Florida for his brother Drew’s wedding to the lovely Morgana. We are so happy to welcome her to the Mauney family!
Let’s back up to Friday first, though – the rehearsal dinner!
Dress: old fave from Target. Jean jacket: Le Tote! Wedges: old faves from DSW.
Drew and Morgana’s rehearsal dinner was at the beautiful WaterSound Beach Club. We started the evening with an early dinner and some very sweet speeches!
Key lime pie for dessert – fitting for Florida!
Don’t the Mauney brothers look alike? 🙂 From left – Matt, Drew, Chris!
Dinner ended early because there was something waiting for us: a bonfire on the beach as a wedding welcome party! It was too cloudy to enjoy the sunset as planned, but this was still awesome – such a cool idea!
Also, smores were waiting. My fave! Loved their little smores kits. 🙂
We all hung out, enjoyed wine/beer, ate smores, and chatted away until well after dark. Matt and Drew played some guitar for everyone too!
On Saturday, the day of the wedding, we were all relieved when the forecast finally wasn’t calling for storms anymore! It was mostly cloudy in the morning and ended up turning into a nice evening. Perfect, since the whole wedding was outside! How beautiful is this ceremony location? Loved the glasses and flowers dangling from the trees!
The wedding ceremony and reception both took place at Watersound Origins, a private beach community. It was a beautiful venue, especially since the weather cooperated!
Look who I found! Looking fabulous, Morgana. 🙂
So fun to see all the ladies again that I got to know at Morgana’s bachelorette weekend in NYC last month, too! (Hi Beth!) The bridesmaids were looking gorgeous – loved their dresses and those colorful bouquets!
Here I am with my handsome gentleman! Drew asked his groomsmen to just rock the vest/tie look with no jacket – looked good!
My dress is from Macy’s but I didn’t see it online anymore in black – it’s on Amazon (on sale) in blue/cream, though!
The ceremony went beautifully and before we knew it it was time for the first dances! Drew and Morgana, who are both in the musical theater/dance business in NYC, put on QUITE the show. It was epic – they did a really fun medley of different styles of music!
That definitely won for coolest first dance at a wedding! 🙂
Dinner time! The tables were around the pool which was fun, and Matt and I were seated with a bunch of old friends in addition to his older brother Chris and his wife Jess (and their two little boys) – we all had a grand old time. 🙂
Dinner was a buffet – delicious food! We had really good cheesy bread on the table, too.
After dinner Drew, Matt, their dad, and the bride’s dad became the entertainment for a few songs before the band took over! Matt and the bride’s dad played guitar, Drew sang, and the father of the groom played keyboard. They were REALLY good!
My nephew Nate especially approved. 🙂 The tiny suspenders and bow tie – I die. He was one of the two ring bearers!
Such a beautiful night and fun celebration. We especially enjoyed the photo booth. 😉
Congratulations again, Drew and Morgana! We’re so happy for you guys. <3
