Hello, hello!
I hope you all had nice weeks. Popping in with some things I’m loving lately! Please play along in the comments – what’s something you’re loving right now?

1) A run date with friends!
I had such a treat last weekend – a run date with my friends Kathleen and Sarah!

We hadn’t all run together in… more than a year, I think – the last time was probably when I was in the first trimester of pregnancy with Wes in fall 2020. Feels like forever ago!
It was so fun to be out on the run together again and to catch up. It went by too quickly!
We ran on the C&O Canal trail, which is one of my favorite trails in the area. I hadn’t run on it in way too long either!
It was cold but sunny, and felt really good out there.
We covered 3 miles which felt just right. I forgot to stop my watch when we stopped for photos at one point so the pace isn’t totally accurate but whatever!
I’m excited to do more of this again as I build my running back up, and as the weather warms up. Love spring running!
This one is really random, but I had a bunch of clothes on which the fabric was pilling – especially some of my yoga pants.
This fabric shaver takes away all the pilling and makes the clothing look new again – it’s basically magic! Highly recommend.
It’s very satisfying to use because you can watch it immediately take away all the extra little balls of fabric… kind of mesmerizing. 🙂
3) Two books I enjoyed recently: Reckless Girls and The Maid.
For my fellow fiction book reading fans, check those out!
Reckless Girls is a thriller set on a deserted island in the Pacific. It was twisty, engaging, and pretty dark but not TOO dark. It made me want a tropical vacation – but not on a creepy empty island!
The Maid is a whodunit novel set in a hotel. It’s technically a mystery but the overall theme is sweet and heartwarming. A feel good book!
4) Hummus toast with sliced eggs!
I love me some avocado toast, but I’ve been mixing it up lately with a really easy variation: toast topped with a hefty smear of hummus, then topped with a sliced boiled egg.
It’s nice because it’s SO quick to throw together if we already have boiled eggs on hand, which we usually do.
And it’s really filling, which is good because keeping up with my crawling little man (as you’ll see in the photo above) makes me hungry! 🙂
5) Riese’s loving lately: bagels.
Throwing one of Riese’s current obsessions in here too just for fun: bagels! She loves them so much.
I got her some mini whole wheat bagels to have at preschool for snack or lunch and she’s loving it. Here is a picture of one of her preschool snack boxes from this week.
(For more ideas, see this post: Healthy Toddler Snack Ideas.)
She’s also really loving my old fave Banana Protein Pancakes. We almost always do the microwave version these days which isn’t as pretty but it tastes just as good.
Wes really likes this pancake too – I give him finger-size pieces so he can grab them easily and gnaw on them.
6) Date nights with Matt!
After a really long stretch of not doing dates with Matt (see also: pandemic, pregnancy, young baby, etc. etc.), we’ve started to bring them back and it has been really nice to have some time to reconnect.
This week we went out to dinner at Stracci Pizza here in Del Ray – it’s new-ish and it was really good, loved their pizza! We started with the winter salad which was delicious:
And then we shared two pizzas – a create your own with fresh stracciatella cheese, pepperoni, mushrooms, olives, and basil, and one with garlicky spinach, fontina cheese, and artichoke hearts.
Both were delicious! Loved how crunchy the crust was.
And that’s all I have for you today!
If you’re looking for some recipe ideas for the Super Bowl, check out this post: Healthy Super Bowl Snack Recipes. My favorite is the Healthier Seven Layer Taco Dip, it’s sooo good.
And if you want some inspiration for Valentine’s/Galentine’s Day on Monday, here is my favorite dessert: Chewy Chocolate Cherry Cookies. Or, try my Cherry Chocolate Overnight Oats for a fun breakfast!
My Feta Stuffed Chicken Breast is also a great dinner to try if you want something that feels/looks fancy but is actually quite easy to make.
I hope you have a great weekend, my friends! See you back here on Tuesday.
