Hello friends!
I hope you all had a nice weekend! I hit up a friend’s surprise birthday party on Friday night, then got my butt kicked on Saturday morning by this workout at CrossFit Arlington:
Um, yikes. Still sore.
Saturday night, we went out to dinner with friends, and then on Sunday morning, I met my friend Megan for coffee (some of you will recognize her as the former MegaNerd Runs blogger!):
After we caught up, I hit up a free yoga class at Epic Yoga in Dupont (every Sunday for the next few months they’re offering a free 11 a.m. class on Sundays as part of a partnership with Lululemon in Logan Circle – win!):
And then went to brunch afterwards with a new friend – Amaris, who is an RD that works in PR and did UNC’s MPH in Nutrition program a couple years before me! We went to Kramerbooks & Afterwords Café – love this place.
I had the eggs benedict with crab, minus the hollandaise sauce (not a fan). It was delicious – I wasn’t able to finish all of this!
And the rest of yesterday (before Super Bowl watching, of course), was spent packing! Why? Because I’m headed to Chapel Hill for the next week or so to study with my grad school girlfriends Maria and Elle for the big RD exam! We used to do all our studying during the program together, so it only makes sense that we’ll study for this together, too. Posting may be a little bit sporadic this week as we buckle down and study but I’ll be sure to pop in and share our non-studying adventures. 🙂 We have all sorts of fun workout dates planned already as study breaks, of course!
And speaking of workouts, I’m excited to announce that I’ve officially signed on as a Brooks Run Happy Ambassador!
Those of you who have been reading the blog for awhile will remember that for years, my go to running shoe has been the Brooks Adrenaline.
They were the very first running shoe I bought when I started running more seriously shortly after college, and I wore them exclusively until about a year ago when I decided to mix things up a bit. But I have to say, Brooks still feels like home. 🙂
As part of my ambassadorship, I’ll be promoting the “Run Happy” attitude as well as sharing it with you guys in the form of giveaways, reviews, and other contests. I love the Brooks tagline “Run Happy” – I feel like it perfectly embodies what I go for with my runs. So much so, in fact, that my RoadID, which I got years ago, actually says “Run Happy” on it as the inspirational quote under my personal info!
Needless to say, I can’t wait to work with Brooks. 🙂 It will be fun to try some of their other shoes out as I train for my spring races this year!
Have a great day and catch you later from North Carolina!
