Hello friends!
I had another fun day yesterday with my college friend Lu! I spent the morning at school, in class and getting some work done, and returned home in time for a late lunch. We decided to go to another one of my local Chapel Hill favorites — Lime & Basil!
Lime & Basil is a Vietnamese restaurant on Franklin Street — I’ve been here a couple times before, once with a blog reader (Hi Aubrey!) and once with Matt — but both times I’ve forgotten my camera! Today was finally the day to capture the deliciousness that is this restaurant’s pho.
I LOVE pho — have you guys ever had it? It’s such a good rainy day comfort food type meal. Basically a huge bowl of rice noodles, broth, and some sort of protein — tofu in Lu’s case, chicken in mine — plus some veggies and topped with bean sprouts and thai basil.
Deeeeelish. Especially when a little of this stuff is added to the mix:
After lunch we came back to my place to get a little work done and then headed back out again for a 4:15 yoga class! I had to introduce Lu to my favorite yoga studio, of course. 🙂
The class was amazing — very relaxing and a good workout, too. Lu and I both left feeling completely amazing and she was talking about how much the class made her want to start up yoga again! I love having friends visit that are on board for workouts. 🙂
We decided to go see a movie last night when we got back from yoga, so we quickly packed up some sandwiches to eat in the theater for dinner — I know, so classy.
Yep, come visit me and I will make you almond butter and jelly sandwiches for dinner. 😉 Lol. What can I say — it was exactly what both of us wanted and perfect to sneak into the movie!
We saw the movie “Like Crazy” — one I’d been really intrigued by after seeing some ads on TV for it lately. The movie debuted at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year and has been getting rave reviews. I loved the movie — it was so raw and real and heartbreaking. Very refreshing to see a movie without all the usual Hollywood frills, even though it made both of us cry at least 3 times. 🙂 Any of you seen it? What did you think of the ending?

Lu and I just enjoyed some of my Pumpkin Pie Oatmeal and now I’m headed off to school! Unfortunately I need to get down to some serious studying today — final exams start next week, bah!
Happy Tuesday. 🙂
