Hello friends!
I had a fun night last night — I headed into town to meet up with the lovely yogis at Lululemon Raleigh!

Lululemon is opening a new store in October in the North Hills area and invited a couple bloggers and local business owners in to chat about ways to engage the community. Obviously Lululemon is a company that wants to sell clothes, but I love that they are so interested in improving the health and happiness of their communities, too. We had some cool ideas for their grand opening party — I’m excited to attend! 🙂
I arrived at their store a little after 6 for the meeting…
And was surprised to find TV cameras!
Apparently the local Raleigh ABC news team was there filming a promo segment for Salutation Nation, which is next weekend on Saturday, September 10th!
Salutation Nation is an annual, international day of yoga in which people from all over the world gather to do yoga together at the same time, led by local yoga ambassadors. The local Salutation Nation is taking place at 9 a.m. at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park — cool, right? My favorite instructor Lori (the owner of Franklin Street Yoga!) will be teaching, along with some other local favorites.
I SO wish I could go to Salutation Nation this year, but sadly Matt and I will be out of town for a wedding. You guys should all go and send me photos from your local Salutation Nations! There’s a list of all the locations on their website. I lot of people go as their very first yoga class, too, so don’t be scared! It’s just so fun to go do yoga outside in a huge group. The only other time I’ve done yoga outside was at Yoga on the Mall in DC, and it was really freaking cool. That’s one of my favorite posts on this blog (click on the link to see the hilarious photo of Army guys doing yoga!) 🙂
ANYWAY! After ABC interviewed Lululemon about the event, we went to the yoga studio next door so they could film us doing yoga!
The yoga studio owner led us in about a 10 minute sun salutation flow while the camera crew went around the room getting shots of all of us in action. I don’t think I’ve ever done a more perfect chaturanga in my life 😉 I was so scared I was going to fall over or something and ruin the shot, lol.
I can’t wait til the news story comes out — I hope I make it into the shot! 😉 I’ll be sure to share a link to the video next week when the story is aired.
I’m off to class — have a wonderful Friday, friends!

Have you ever attended Salutation Nation before in your area? Or have you ever gone to an outdoor yoga event? I think I need to do yoga outside more often. Especially now that we have such nice fall weather going on!
