Homemade Balsamic Salad Dressing
Not only does this recipe use pantry staples you probably already have on hand, but it’s easily customizable, too!
All you need for this base recipe is olive oil, balsamic vinegar, lemon, dijon mustard, and garlic.
Feel free to leave out the garlic for simplicity, or mix up the vinegar with something else. Try red wine or apple cider vinegar instead of the balsamic. (Hot tip: apple cider vinaigrette is perfect for fall – here’s a tasty maple dijon dressing to try!).
To make it sweeter, experiment with adding honey or maple syrup. Whatever you do, I have no doubt it will be delicious!
Once you get the hang of this recipe, you won’t need to bother getting measuring cups/spoons dirty, either. You’ll be able to eyeball it in no time.

How to Make Lemon Balsamic Dressing
To make this recipe, simply whisk together your oil, vinegar, dijon mustard, lemon juice, and optional garlic. Or, combine in a jar, screw on the lid, and shake vigorously.
It’s so easy, you’ll never need to buy it from the store again!
You can even make a large batch and store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 2-3 weeks. Just make sure to shake it up when you’re ready to use it again, as some of the ingredients can separate over time.
Then serve drizzled atop your favorite salad! It’s super versatile – goes great with a simple green salad, a crispy cucumber and tomato salad, grain salad, pasta salad, or even roasted vegetables. The tangy flavor especially compliments the sweetness of fruit in salads.
Honestly, I’d try this dressing on anything, it’s just that good. (Have extra lemons? Try this creamy lemon Greek yogurt dressing, too!)
