It’s Global Running Day! I’m using today as an opportunity to celebrate running by further diversifying my social media feeds, specifically when it comes to runners. Check out my Instagram post today for some of my favorite inspirational Black runners and diversity-focused running accounts to follow – and I’d love any recommendations you have to share, too.
I’d also like to share links to two running-focused articles. First, this one titled “Racing to Stay Alive” from Marielle Hall, one of the Black runners that I follow on Instagram, and second: 11 Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) Runners Speak Out About Running and Race.
Matt and I got out for a 5k run this morning to celebrate Global Running Day, which was a really nice treat. His parents are here visiting this week to help out with Riese so we can work, and we decided to take advantage of the morning toddler coverage by going out for our first no stroller run date in months.

I signed up for the free virtual Brooks 5k, so I wore my bib on our run. 🙂 It was nice to have the motivation to do a certain distance – I haven’t run a 5k straight without stopping/walking in many months at this point!
Matt’s parents head out on Friday afternoon so we’re going to sneak in one more run date together on Friday morning. I’m really looking forward to it!
Are you celebrating Global Running Day today? How are you celebrating? Is anyone else doing the virtual 5k?
I’ll see you guys back here on Friday with our eats from the week.
