Hello friends!
Can you believe it’s January?! Guess it’s time to head back to the real world, huh? Between our honeymoon and Christmas, Matt and I were super spoiled in December. It all went by way too quickly! Now that the holidays are behind us, I’m going to start sharing recaps of our honeymoon, so stay tuned for those peppered in among my normal posts!
Underwater cameras will never get old.
Now that the new year has started, it also means I need to start getting serious about studying for the RD (Registered Dietitian) exam, which I’ll be able to take later this month or early in February as soon as the paperwork from UNC goes through. I also need to start talking to some local organizations about jobs (and thinking more about my potential online private practice plans)! Lots to do. If you know of any DC area organizations that need an RD/nutrition related work, please let me know!
As for now, I started off the first official working day of the new year with one of my High Protein & Flour-Free Breakfast Pancakes (click for recipe) and a latte. Easy and delicious!
As for lunch, I’m excited to enjoy an old favorite – my Veggie-tastic Minestrone Soup (click for recipe)! I made a big batch yesterday so we could enjoy it this week (and will probably freeze some of it for later, too).
And now, it’s time to get back to work! On the agenda for the rest of this week:
- Catch up on life! Get blog-related email explosion under control, clean up apartment, do all the stuff on my to do list I ignored last month, etc.
- Find a new CrossFit box! As you guys know, Matt and I had been going to CrossFit Dupont since last summer, but they closed their previous location and are relocating farther into the city, so Matt and I want to find one closer to us instead. There are a TON of CrossFit boxes in Arlington so I think we’re going to check out a bunch of them to see which one we like best (thanks for the recommendations in my Farewell CrossFit Dupont post in November)!
- Fly to Florida on Friday for Meghann’s wedding! It will be the first wedding we attend since our own and I can’t wait. I feel like you appreciate weddings so much more once you’re married because you really understand just how much hard work goes into planning them (and notice the details more, too!). I’m also pumped for warm weather again. 🙂
Time to get after it! Have a great day, everyone – good luck if it’s your first day back from vacation, too!
