Hello from D.C.! I drove up this morning because this weekend is my 10 year high school reunion! Yikes. Times flies, huh?! It will be fun to see everyone again! 🙂
On my drive up this morning, I swung by Woodbridge, VA to have lunch with my friend Michelle from my Microbiology class last summer!
I heart her 🙂 It was great to see her!
We had lunch at Wegmans at their amazing salad bar. Mmmm…
I loaded up on greens, some bean salads, chicken, and my favorite — watermelon! I don’t know why I insist on getting the heaviest fruit possible at a pay-by-weight salad bar, but it’s just sooo good and juicy I can’t help myself 🙂
After lunch, I swung by Alexandria to see Matt (he works here in DC during the week) — his 10 year high school reunion is actually this weekend too, but up in Pittsburgh! So he will be going to his, and I’ll be going to mine. Sniff. I was glad to see him briefly though before he left!
I’m home now and my mom and I have a hot dinner date shortly, but first — exciting news! I heard earlier today that I advanced to round 4 of Foodbuzz’s Project Food Blog!! Thank you all SO much for voting for me. I’m so excited!
Here are all three of my Project Food Blog posts, in case you missed any of them:
- Challenge #1: My Journey to Food Blogging
- Challenge #2: Fresh Thai Summer Rolls!
- Challenge #3: How to Host an Awesome Dinner Party
To celebrate advancing to the next round, I bought the most adorable (and amazingly priced – $12!) apron at TJ Maxx.
(Actually, I bought it just before I heard about advancing… don’t tell 😉 )
Isn’t it sickeningly cute?! I want it to be a dress!!
Heh. Clearly I heart ruffles.
I’m off for a quick run before dinner — have a wonderful night! And stay tuned — an epic recipe is coming up on the blog tomorrow 😉
