This is Restaurant Week in D.C., which is basically my favorite week ever. Three course meals at super expensive restaurants priced at $20.10 for lunch or $35.10 for dinner? Yes, please.
So when a fellow D.C. blogger, Jacquie, suggested that we meet up last night for a fun dinner out, clearly I was on board 🙂 Jacquie emailed me a couple months ago with a question about my blog and we’ve been chatting ever since, so it was fun to finally meet her in person!
We went to Cafe Bonaparte in Georgetown, which is an awesome French place I’ve been to a couple times before. They actually had good lighting so we had a blogger photo fest 😉
I started with the calamari, which was sautéed with tomatoes and garlic, tossed in a lemon chickpea vinaigrette, and served over lightly steamed baby spinach.
It was delicious!
For my main course, I decided on the steak! I’m not a huge red meat person, but every once in awhile when I’m in the mood it’s divine.
The steak came with fries, which I swapped out for salad instead to save room for dessert 😉 I also skipped the hollandaise sauce it was supposed to come with — not a fan!
Mmmm… the steak was nice and tender with a peppery crust. Just the way I like it!
And now… are you ready for the finale?!
Check this out:
DROOL!!!!!!!!!!! Cafe Bonaparte has awesome crepes. I’ve only had their savory ones before, so when I saw that a sweet crepe was one of their dessert options, I knew I had to make it happen.
This was called the “Last Tango Crepe” and came stuffed with nutella and strawberries and topped with whipped cream and a drizzle of berry sauce.
SO GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!! I heart nutella. 🙂
Anyway, suffice to say that my bottomless pit monster stomach was finally tamed 😉 Thanks for a fun night, Jacquie!

I’m actually going to ANOTHER restaurant week dinner tonight with a bunch of my girlfriends! And I may have gone to one on Tuesday too 😉 You only live once, friends! Just gotta keep it balanced.
With that in mind… I ran a VERY hilly 3.5 miles this morning in my neighborhood 🙂 I feel like 3.5 super hilly miles totally = 5 flat miles. Thoughts? Plus, it was basically an unplanned boot-camp style obstacle course since I kept having to leap over huge piles of snow. 😉
When I came back, I got some errands and grad school research done, caught up on some emails, and did some freestyle yoga and pilates for toning and stretching.
Now I’m off to the office for the rest of the day — have a good one!
