Hello and happy Sunday! Thank you all so much for your good luck wishes for my comprehensive exams on Friday! The exam was really hard, but I’m hoping I did well enough to pass. I’ll find out in a couple weeks!
After celebrating on Friday afternoon with my classmates, I flew up to the DC area on Saturday morning to meet Matt and our DC crew for our friends Erin & John’s wedding! John was one of Matt’s roommates in DC back in 2004-2008, when we were all first dating. It’s so fun to be reunited with our old gang!
Their wedding was at the beautiful Whitehall Manor out in Virginia wine country.
I loved all the fun personal touches they had at the wedding — like this E+J corkboard welcoming everyone to the wedding:
And underneath the corkboard was this adorable basket with the wedding ceremony programs.
SO cute, right?
Their ceremony was outdoors — the weather was perfect and it was a beautiful spot.
Just married! 🙂
I wish I’d gotten a better photo of the bridesmaids — they were wearing strapless navy blue dresses with bright red heels, plus red flower bouquets. It was SUCH a cute combo, and actually one I was considering for our wedding until we decided to go with the green sashes instead! Erin (the bride) was also wearing matching bright red shoes that peeked out every once in awhile — such a cute look.
There was a cocktail hour up at the main house (right by where the outdoor ceremony was held) immediately following the ceremony. Such a pretty venue!
I loved their “guestbook” — it was a painting of a tree with little stamp pads of color — you left a colored fingerprint “leaf” on the tree, and signed it. Such a unique idea!
Don’t worry — they also had little hand wipes so you didn’t have colored ink on your hands all night. 🙂
Also during the cocktail hour, they had this awesome outdoor “photo booth” set up (with one of their photographers posted there) — so fun!
Matt and I clearly hit it up immediately. His sign says “Too sober to be witty…” 😉
We also got a few pictures outside — how cute is this swing?
Weeeeee!
Dinner was also in the main house following the cocktail hour. Lucky table #13! I loved the little lanterns they had on some of the tables.
As for dinner, they had a plated Caesar salad to start:
Followed by a buffet. Yum! I had a little of everything — London broil, chicken, roasted potatoes, veggies, and a pasta dish that I didn’t eat because I didn’t like it and everything else was amazing. 🙂
I missed out on the cake (they had cupcakes) because I was too busy dancing up a storm with everyone — they had an AWESOME, really fun band. Great night and beautiful wedding! Congratulations again to Erin and John — enjoy Hawaii! 🙂

Matt and I are driving back to my parent’s house now — we have plans for a run with my dad, followed by dinner with both my parents. I fly back to Chapel Hill late tonight.
Hope you’re all having a nice weekend!
