Happy Friday!
I’m super excited about this weekend because tomorrow morning my two BFF’s from college, Turner (her maiden name nickname which she will never escape from) and Kris are coming to visit!!
Here we are at my birthday party in 2008, just before I left for Prague — I love this picture of us and have it framed in my room 🙂
(My birthday is in September and for a couple years in a row I rented a massive bus to take me and about 45 of my friends to wineries/wine fests in the area, followed by an after party at friend’s places. It was so ridiculous and amazing.)
Anyway! Turner, Kris, and I were all on the same freshman floor! Kris and I lived together junior year with some of our other friends, and then all three of us lived together senior year. Here’s me and Kris the first weekend of sophomore year in 2001 — don’t we look little??
I wish I had more college pictures on my computer but those were pre-digital camera days, ha!
Turner lives in Philly and Kris lives in Boston, but we still manage to get together a good amount throughout the year 🙂 They actually both came to visit me while I was living in Prague, too!
Here Turner and I are in March, freezing our butts off next to the Vltava River with the Prague Castle in the background:
While she was visiting, we went to Cesky Krumlov for a day, which is the cutest town ever about 3 hours by bus from Prague. If you’re ever in the Czech Republic, go to Cesky Krumlov!!
It’s kind of like a baby version of Prague 🙂
Kris came to visit in May, right at the end of my time in Prague. Sniff, sniff!
I had just finished teaching at the primary school and still had a couple weeks before leaving Europe to come home, so we planned a trip to ITALY for 10 days!
It was SO amazing. Best food, art, wine, gelato (that’s where my header picture comes from!), and weather ever.
We went to Venice, Florence, and Rome, eating and drinking everything in sight, taking in all the crazy awesome art, and walking a billion miles every day.
Kris is Italian but had never been to Italy, and we actually got to meet some of her extended family in Rome! So awesome.
Now I totally want to go back to Italy… I can’t believe that was just 9 months ago!
Anyway, yay! I’m off to the grocery store to get provisions — I have a fun 3-course dinner planned for us tomorrow night here at the house! (Don’t worry I’ll blog about it!) Other plans include brunch outings, visiting some of the DC art museums, a fun Valentines Day dinner out, and walking around the city! We’ll also be running 7 miles on Sunday morning — yay training!
It’s funny because in college, our idea of a good time was a bag of lime Tostitos, mixed drinks, and a frat party. Now we’re like… ummm let’s make fun fancy dinners, have wine, and go to bed by 11 p.m. so we can get up and go running and to museums! Lol. Anyone else??
