Hello, hello!
I am alive and well and back in Chapel Hill after a super busy weekend. Our friends’ wedding was last night (Sunday), so I drove back to Chapel Hill early this morning to get back in time for my biochem review session at 2. I made it just in time. 🙂
Both the wedding and the reception were held at the Key Bridge Marriott, which is in Virginia right across the river from Georgetown (DC).
The reception was held in a cool room on the top floor of the hotel that had great views of the city!
See the Washington monument behind us in the photo below?
And you can see Key Bridge to the right of us in this one.
Here I am with the bride, Megan, and my college friend Sarah, who is 7 months pregnant!
It’s funny going to weddings now that I’m planning my own wedding, because I pay attention to the details more than I used to. I loved this cute idea they had to have all their guests sign a framed map of Arlington, where they live!
The food was good, too. We started with salads:
And then moved on to the main course:
Tasty! Plus, cake, of course. They had a bunch of flavors, but our table got the spice cake — it was GOOD — cream cheese frosting, yum!
We finished the night with dancing and frequent trips to the photo booth. LOVE these! We’re having one at our wedding, too — they’re just so fun. A big congratulations to our friends Megan and Jack! We had a great time celebrating with you. 🙂
One of the other highlights of the weekend (besides lunch with my high school BFF Jenny and her husband Dan on Saturday) was a 5 mile run on my favorite, the C&O Canal, with my dad and Matt on Sunday morning before the wedding.
As always when running with my dad (he’s way faster than me), we kept a good clip.
Splits:
- Mile 1: 8:49
- Mile 2: 8:30
- Mile 3: 8:22
- Mile 4: 8:17
- Mile 5: 7:53
Average overall pace was 8:22 min/miles. Great run!
I’m off to unpack, get organized, and do a little relaxing. Have a great night!
