I made a new friend yesterday!
Sierra is a fellow blogger and blog reader; she lives in South Africa but is currently in the Chapel Hill area for a couple months with her husband for work. She commented on my solo 10 miler post a couple weeks ago asking if I’d like to meet up for a run sometime, and of course I said yes! I love meeting friends (and especially running buddies) through the blog — you already know you have interests in common. 🙂
I was also excited to try a new running route that she knew. We had a beautiful morning for the run and ran through all sorts of pretty neighborhoods. Between the views and the nonstop chatter, the run flew by!
Splits:
- Mile 1: 8:58
- Mile 2: 9:26 (muddy trail!)
- Mile 3: 9:04
- Mile 4: 8:48
- Mile 5: 9:00
- Mile 6: 8:58
- Mile 7: 8:41
Great run! The route was a bit hilly but we were able to maintain a good pace while chatting away. Overall time: 1:02:55 — average pace: 8:59. Thanks for the run, Sierra! I hope we can meet up again before you head back to South Africa. 🙂
This was my last longer run before the Tobacco Road Half Marathon next week! Exciting. I feel like I haven’t done a race in a long time so it’ll be nice to get back out there! I was reading a bunch of race-related tweets on Twitter this morning and it got me excited for next weekend. 🙂
It’s time to get some work done and then enjoy the beautiful day — Matt and I have a bike ride on the docket. Happy Sunday, friends!
