2012 was a busy and intense year, but it was filled with a lot of fun, too. I always love having the blog to look back and see how much I’ve done in a year – not only accomplishments but also to remind myself of fun trips and adventures! Without further ado – here’s 2012 in a nutshell (part 1)!

I spent a weekend in Miami with Matt (he was working there during the week for a lot of early 2012) – and we also explored Key Biscayne.
One of my BFF’s, Jessica, came to visit me in Chapel Hill. Again – I can’t believe I was wearing a t-shirt in February. I miss you, NC.

March 2012
Matt and I spent my spring break up in DC on a wedding planning and apartment hunting frenzy. We did our cake and food tasting – mmm – and also picked table settings! We also registered for our gifts – check out the comments on that post if you need advice, it’s really helpful!
I ran the Tobacco Road Half Marathon and set a new PR (which still stands): 1:49:37!
fANNEtastic food got a mini design makeover!

Intramural sand volleyball started up. Oh, yes. Going to really miss that this spring, too!
I took my comprehensive exams for grad school. We spent months and months studying for this terrifying test – so much pressure! We found out a few weeks later whether we passed (I did – whew!) or would need to re-take the test.
Matt and I attended our friends John & Erin’s wedding at beautiful Whitehall Manor in VA.
I ran the Tarheel 10 Miler with my friend Elle. It was so. hilly.

Farewell, Chapel Hill — Matt and I moved back to the Washington DC area so I could start my dietetic internships.
5 seconds after moving in to our new place in DC, I traveled to NYC for a Fitness Magazine Blogger Meet & Tweet.
I then traveled on to Reebok headquarters in Boston for a cool FitFluential event and I tried CrossFit for the first time.
A week later, I traveled to Massachusetts again to run the Reach the Beach Relay, a 200 mile overnight running relay race, with a team of 11 other blogger buddies, courtesy of New Balance. We had a BLAST. (Leg 1 recap, leg 2 recap, leg 3 recap).
I began my summer clinical dietetic internship at Washington Hospital Center in DC.
